MILWAUKEE (Feb. 17, 2013) – Marquette University Student Government will be hosting a night of spoken word, music and lyrical art at “Speak! + Coffeehouse” on February 21 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
This event is a night consisting of inspiring stories and spoken word that will take you on a lyrical journey led by some of Milwaukee’s native poets.
In addition to the lyrical performances, the microphone will be open to any students who wish to express themselves and showcase their poetic talents.
The night will also feature a Coffeehouse performance from Sam Brenner, an upcoming singer/songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio. Opening acts for Brenner will be performances from Marquette’s very own Julian Cammarano, Sarah Lauer and David Drejas
Along with the musical performances, the first 20 people to arrive will receive a free Coffeehouse mug and there will be free coffee and cookies for students to enjoy while they experience the art of language.
“Speak! + Coffeehouse” will take place in the Weasler Auditorium right next the AMU.
So whether you are a William Shakespeare, a musician or just an admirer of the lyrical art form, all students are welcome to attend this inspiring event.
