What Kind of World Do You Want?: John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting Speaks and Performs at MarquettePosted: October 31, 2012 | |
MILWAUKEE (Oct. 31, 2012) – Marquette University Student Government will welcome John Ondrasik to campus on November 14, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms. Ondrasik, well-known under his stage name of Five for Fighting, will be speaking about issues that influence our campus and his personal role as a songwriter and social activist. The event is free and open to the Marquette community.
Ondrasik is committed to building awareness of social issues and supporting charities. He has supported such organizations as United Service Organizations, Advanced Force Operations, Fisher House Foundation, Autism Speaks, Save the Children and Operation Homefront.
As the lead singer for Five for Fighting, Ondrasik has used his musical talent to support the troops by producing free records and concerts for the United Service Organization (USO). Through his website and other initiatives, John Ondrasik has raised over $250,000 dollars for charitable organizations.
“What Kind of World Do You Want?” is a part of the 2012-13 MUSG Speaker Series and Office of Student Development’s “Big Question Marquette” program. Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority are also helping sponsor the event.
The next Speaker Series event will feature Comedian and star of FX’s “Totally Biased”, W. Kamau Bell in January.
