Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month

MILWAUKEE – Sept. 28, 2011 –Marquette University Student Government will be hosting DiversiTEA on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 4 -5 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, room 163.

DiversiTEA will give students a chance to come together and engage in a conversation about racial and ethnic discrimination in Milwaukee. Tea and other light snacks will be served. Georgia Pabst, a writer from the Journal Sentinel, specializes in Latino issues around the Milwaukee area will be speaking and leading the discussion.

DiversiTEA is being held in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. National Hispanic Heritage Month extends from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 and is a time to celebrate and explore Hispanic culture, heritage and individuals who have greatly influenced the United States.

DiversiTEA will be an ongoing event simultaneously taking place throughout the year. The next event is Oct. 26 and will be focusing on religions.

Come enjoy tea, discuss issues that are important to you and hear what other students have to say.
